Crystal Pite and William Forsythe works lead English National Ballet's first Azerbaijan visit

English National Ballet will perform in Azerbaijan for the first time with a programme pairing works by Crystal Pite and William Forsythe. Masters in Motion: Forsythe / Pite is scheduled for 6–7 November 2026 at Azerbaijan State Musical Theatre in Baku.

The visit forms part of the Baku International Arts Festival. The company's production page lists both performances at 8 p.m.

Pite's Body and Soul (Part 1) explores conflict and connection through a sequence that expands from a duet into group movement. The creative credits identify Owen Belton's music, additional music by Chopin and a voice contribution by Marina Hands.

Forsythe's Playlist (EP) brings ballet technique into contact with a soundtrack of pop, R&B and house. The credited artists include Barry White and Natalie Cole. Together, the works give audiences two distinct approaches to contemporary ballet.

These are announced performances. Booking information and any programme changes should be checked on the official production page.
