Edgars Suritis, known in competition as B-Boy Edgar, will represent Latvia in Breaking at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. At 16, he is set to become the first Latvian male athlete to qualify for the Youth Olympic Breaking competition, according to the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF).
The qualification is also a milestone for Latvia’s young Breaking scene: WDSF describes Suritis as the country’s second athlete to qualify for the Youth Olympic Games in the discipline. He comes from Daugavpils and trains with the local crew Factory Kingz, placing the country’s first male qualification in a scene the federation’s profile links to a specific city and crew.
Suritis’ route to Dakar has included several international youth competitions. WDSF’s athlete record lists him 39th at the 2026 BfG International Series in Porto, 76th at the 2025 World Championships, and 63rd at the 2024 World Championships in Wuxi. The federation notes that its ranking system counts confirmed results; these placements are separate event finishes, not a single cumulative result.
The Youth Olympic Breaking competition is scheduled for 12–13 November in Dakar. The current WDSF event page lists B-Girls and B-Boys pre-selections and round-robin battles on the first day, followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals and medal battles on the second. The schedule remains subject to change by the local organising committee.
Suritis’ DanceWami profile brings together his verified WDSF identity and listed results. See the Dakar Youth Olympic Breaking event page for the programme. Sources: WDSF athlete feature, WDSF athlete profile and WDSF event schedule.
