Private weather apps get their data from the NWS. If the agency crumbles, so does your weather app’s accuracy. More importantly, delayed warnings mean more deaths during tornadoes, floods, and hurricanes.
### **The Bigger Question: Who’s to Blame?**
Is it Congress underfunding critical services? Bureaucratic red tape slowing innovation? Or just bad leadership? Whatever the reason, the result is the same—we’re all at greater risk.
### **What Can Be Done?**
- **Demand better funding.** The NWS shouldn’t have to beg for resources.
- **Push for tech upgrades.** AI and supercomputers should be standard, not a luxury.
- **Hold leaders accountable.** If private companies can predict weather better, why can’t our government?
