Sara Sablone and Aurora Biscalchin left the adult women's solo competitions in Alicante with a world title apiece—and a silver medal behind each other.
Sablone won Salsa Shine on 9 October, ahead of Biscalchin and Turkey's Alina Turcan. In Bachata Shine, the order of the first two reversed: Biscalchin took gold, Sablone silver, and Turcan collected another bronze.
The two Italian dancers therefore occupied the top two places in both events. The results are recorded in the WDSF's separate Salsa Shine and Bachata Shine championship tables.
Both competitions formed part of the Caribbean Dance World Championships held in Alicante from 9 to 12 October. These were Adult Solo Female events, distinct from the youth, junior, duo and partnered categories on the wider programme.
The federation's 13 October recap covers those other divisions. For Sablone and Biscalchin, the opening day's results tell a particularly close story: the same two names, with the places switched.
