More than 500 community and professional performers are set to join English National Ballet dancers for a new outdoor work at Royal Docks Originals in autumn 2027.
Jeanefer Jean-Charles will serve as project artistic director, with former ENB Soloist Jenna Lee as lead choreographer. Announced on 13 October, the promenade performance will move through Royal Victoria Dock and finish with a mass dance near City Hall.
The company plans to recruit more than 30 local dance groups through callouts and workshops. Ballet, hip hop and contemporary dance will sit alongside other styles, with the work drawing on the identities and experiences of East London's communities.
For groups considering taking part, a ballet background is not required. The current callout welcomes all dance styles and experience levels. Its expression-of-interest form is for groups; individual dancers are directed to separate contacts.
The project forms part of the free Royal Docks Originals festival. ENB has published the commission announcement and participation details, including how to register interest.
