Kielce prepares for two IDO world championship stages from 17 October

Kielce, Poland, is preparing to host two consecutive IDO world championship stages at Hala Legionów from 17 to 24 October. In its 6 October preview, the International Dance Organization said it expected approximately 4,000 dancers from 34 countries across the combined programme.

The opening stage, the World Hip Hop Battles and Breaking Championships, is scheduled for 17–19 October. The World Hip Hop and Popping Championships follow on 20–24 October. Although they share a venue and organizing team, IDO maintains separate competition records and date ranges for the two events.

Two stages, different competition formats

The opening championship’s official programme lists breaking solos, duos and crews, alongside hip hop battle solos and crews. The second stage includes hip hop solos, duos, groups and formations, as well as popping solos and duos. Entries are divided into age-specific categories; competitors should consult the official record for their own discipline and age group.

The figure of about 4,000 dancers is IDO’s pre-event estimate for the overall Kielce programme. It is not a final attendance total or a confirmed entry count for either individual championship.

Venue, officials and practical information

The official event pages name Polish Dance Union as organizer and give the venue address as Leszka Drogosza 2, 25-093 Kielce. IDO lists Kirsten Dan Jensen of Denmark and Irena Bous of Ukraine as chairpersons of judges, Thomas Püttmann Lentz of Germany as supervisor, and Jolanta Dolinska and Lukasz Zurawski of Poland as scrutineers.

The organizer has linked an official timetable. Dancers and spectators should use that document to check category times rather than assume that each category runs throughout the full date range. The IDO detail pages publish an entry deadline of 9 September; category registration links do not by themselves confirm that late entries are accepted.

DanceWami’s Hip Hop Battles and Breaking event and Hip Hop and Popping event now include the confirmed venue and organizer. The associated battles and breaking guide and hip hop and popping guide explain the separate programme stages.
